Xbox Kinect – another chance

This morning while having an empty house I decided to dust off the Kinect camera, re-arrange my living room and have a go at “your shape – fitness evolved 2012”.

Before the launch of the Kinect I talked about the need or the lack of need for motion controlled games. Now that I own a Kinect I’m of the same opinion… It’s a gimmick.

Sure the Kinect is more advanced than the Wii, but the major draw back of the Kinect is the space you need to effectively make use of the equipment.

One of the reasons why I’ve not played my Kinect as much is because of the messing round with the furniture in the living room to allow me space to move.

This morning though after moving couches, armchairs and the TV itself, the Kinect was still failing to pick up some of my movements. Quite frustrating.

In the past I’ve used “Wii fit” with the balance board, this is a little easier for me to use, especially with the yoga workouts.

I think until I move house, for me I’ll either make use of a yoga DVD or the “Wii fit” yoga parts.

I was talking about this recently. This is the reason i prefer PSMove over Kinect. You dont need so much space.
